A LOT of Intel's parts have had significant price drops, this new quad core processor was one of the biggest. You can now get a quad-core CPU running at 2.4 GHz for about the same price as you could get the dual-core processor at 2.67 GHz. And thse processors all over-clock extremely well seen as they are all limited to certain speads (their multipliers) in the first place. Oh well, I guess dual-core will habe to do, although the power hungry monster that is Windows Vista might disagree...
