I don’t know about you guys but since Leaving Cert is looming (15 weeks until I never have to get up at 8am for school again!) I’ve been thinking of the things I’d like to get done by this time next year.
(1) Get full drivers license (Doing driving lessons now)
(2) Be well on the way to getting my PPL (Private Pilots License)
(3) Get my CCNA (Its not something you can read a few pages every night)
(4) Get into somewhere decent for College
(5) Start my own business (Idea is there but I doubt customers are)
(6) Project Tower. If you have to ask then don’t.
(7) Project Tower Mk II. See six
(8) Be more of an active blogger (Also includes the finishing of the draft posts sitting here)
(9) Work for either Microsoft or Google (or both!)
(10) Learn a programming language
I think the temperature has dropped quite a bit down here in Hell….
Why? Well maybe its something to do with this
Now can someone pass me my jumper?
EDIT: And on a totally unrelated matter. Happy birthday Nick! (I won’t link because I know how you like your privacy)
After an hour and half in the doctors office of various different exams for my class-2 medical. Here is what I think everyone taking it should know.
Do not take a whiz before you go. You need to give a urine sample when your there
“Ok, we need a urine sample from you” “But I’ve just gone! I have nothing left to give”
Don’t be afraid of needles. Since this would be my third or fourth time being poked with needles for blood tests etc I told the nurse to go straight for the veins in my hand since I know those work but she was talented enough to find one in my upper right arm. Hats off. They’ll take about 5 vial sized samples from you.
An ECG will be taken. Make sure you are very relaxed and don’t move as it tends to throw it off. I had the test done three times before they were happy with the results.
The IAA checklist for medical history is hefty enough, you’ll go through alot of things before it can be ticked off.
If you wear glasses make sure you bring your prescription with you. I’m going to have to fax mine in now.
If you are under thirty the cert is valid for 5 years. As you get older the length of validity for the test drops.
Thats all that comes to mind about it really. Assuming nothing weird pops up in my blood tests when the results come back I will have passed!
So I’ve bitten the bullet and upgraded just about everything here. I’ve also de-sxoreified my blog while I was at it too. It seems sxore themselves have put a plugin to Wordpress to import comments back into Wordpress, I tried use the tool Conor sent me how ever my python setup didn’t like to work with the modules he used. Although one quirk with sxore’s plugin I can see the comments in the Admin menu, its not displaying on the actual page itself. I’m going to have to poke about and see what I can do about that.
